LeEco Le 2 with 5.5-inch display, Snapdragon 652 launched in India for Rs. 11999

LeEco, the smartphone brand that had recently entered the Indian market with the mid-range Le 1s and the high-end Le Max smartphone, has now launched the successor to the Le 1s, with a Pro variant to the same. The LeEco Le 2 and Le 2 Pro are officially launched in India.

While the exterior doesn’t show big changes from the predecessor, there are a lot of things changed when it comes to the internal hardware as well as with the features included. The LeEco Le 2 has the same 1080p display under the 5.5-inch screen, and internally, the phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 octa-core chip (1.8GHz 64-bit), and this phone is the first to run on this SoC.

The device also has 32GB internal storage (eMMC 5.1) and 3GB of RAM, while one cannot expand the storage. The camera too has got a good upgrade from Le 1s as the device comes with a 16-megapixel rear camera with F/2.0 aperture, Dual LED flash and Phase detection autofocus, and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. The rear shooter can capture 4K videos and it is assisted by a Dual LED flash.

One of the very noticeable changes that one can easily notice is the exclusion of the most common standard – 3.5mm headset jack. LeEco has introduced a new audio standard that uses the USB Type-C connectivity on the device. Named as CDLA (Continual Digital Lossless Audio), this audio standard ensures there is a lossless audio output, thanks to the connectivity as well as a customized chip on the audio headset.

The Le 2 runs Android Marshmallow OS based EUI custom ROM, and for the power, there is a 3000 mAh battery packed into the device. The phone has the mirror-glass fingerprint scanner that is said to have a 0.15-second recognition and 360-degree recognition as well, and just like in the Le 1s, there is an IR blaster on the top to help in remote control functionality. There is support for all the 4G LTE bands in India and the phone is VoLTE ready.

The phone will be available at Lemall.com, the company’s own e-commerce store that is launched today after the beta version was live for a couple of months, and on Flipkart, but the release date is yet to be known. The registration begins on June 20th. With the device, 1 year of LeEco membership is included.
