YU Yunicorn with 5.5-inch display, 4000 mAh battery launch in India

YU Televentures has launched its next flagship, the successor to Yu Yutopia, named as YU Yunicorn. The Yunicorn was teased as something that would redefine flagships, and the device packs some important inclusions that were much needed for a smartphone user in any category – a fingerprint scanner, a 4000 mAh battery, and 4G LTE.

The device comes with a full metal body with a design that can be seen as a repetitive one but something that one can easily adjust with. The phone has a 5.5-inch Full HD display with the pixel density of 401 PPI. It has a 2.5D arc glass, and the thickness of the phone is 8.15mm. It is an Al-Mg-Mn alloy used on the back, with the brushed aluminum finish.

Under the hood, YU has included the MediaTek Helio P10 processor (2 GHz, True Octa-core 64-bit Cortex-A53 CPU and a 700MHz, Dual-core 64-bit Mali-T860 GPU) along with 4GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage. The storage can be expanded usign a MicroSD card.

The OS that Yunicorn runs is Android 5.1 Lollipop with the AOS (Android on Steroids) interface that has the Around YU 2.0 service. It is a customized OS with the new design language. The camera combination given on the phone is a 13-megapixel rear and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.

The rear shooter has Phase-detection autofocus, HDR, Electronic image stabilization and it can take up to 1080p videos and it has a Dual LED flash support. The front fingerprint sensor has a chip-level security. There is a 4000 mAh battery packed into the device and the connectivity options in the device include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, and the other standard set of options. The battery is said to support fast charging, and it is claimed to offer 4 days of usage, 20 hours of talk time, and 500 hours of standby time. For the audio, there is DTS sound support.

The phone is launched exclusively on Flipkart and the pricing of the device is Rs. 12999. The color options are Rush silver, Rush gold, and Graphite. The price is going to be this for the first month, and then it will be available for Rs. 14999.
