Kingston, the memory products manufacturer has announced their latest offering in the DataTraveler segment, microDuo 3C USB Flash drive. With Intel releasing chipsets which support Type-C flash drives the launch of type-C flash drives also seems practical. The DataTraveler microDuo 3C USB works with both the Standard USB Type-A which are 3.1, 3.0 and 2.0 along with USB Type-C ports.
With many devices opting for Type-C ports which help manufacturers make devices slimmer and thinner, and as it allows a single port to function as a point for data transfer, video output, charging and even power external devices.

“DataTraveler microDuo 3C has a dual interface that accommodates both USB Type-A and USB Type-C ports to give users easy access to the latest USB interface,” he added “Our drive provides more storage, features fast data transfer speeds and helps make the new technology more accessible to consumers”.
With the DataTraveler microDuo 3C which can be used on multiple devices like smartphones, tablets and Mac computers at present, will be able to provide up to 64GB of extra storage through simple plug-and-play option. The storage devices come with read speeds of up to 100MB/s and write speeds of up to 15MB/s. Kingston mentioned that the DataTraveler Micro 3.1 will be available in two variants of 16GB and 64GB and the size makes it one of the world’s slimmest USB Flash Drives.
Kingston will be providing 5-years of warranty along with free technical support. It is said to be available at a price of Rs. 800 for the 16GB model and a price of Rs. 1900 for the 64GB model the pricing of the 32GB model will be announced later. The DataTraveler microDuo 3C will be supporting the following Operating Systems – windows 8.1, windows 8, Windows 7 (SP1), Windows 7 (SP2), Mac OS X v.10.7.x and above, Linux v.2.6.x and above and Chrome.
