Lenovo P2 vs. Lenovo P1 vs. ASUS ZenFone 3 Max Comparison

Lenovo has launched the P2 smartphone in India today, after its predecessor P1 was launched last year. In fact, the P2 was made official at the IFA 2016 event in September, at Berlin. Now, the device is officially launched in India and it comes with a good 5100 mAh battery, which is a good power for a usage of at least a couple of days. But, the P2 won’t be the only phone to have a great battery. The ASUS ZenFone 3 Max that was recently launched, also has a great battery at offer.

Now, it would be fair to see how Lenovo has improved the P series and what comes packed into the new phone compared to the previous one, and how does it do in front of the ASUS ZenFone 3 Max. Check out the main aspects given below to find out.

Display and size

The three phones have a screen size of 5.5-inch and all of these come with the Full HD display resolution, i.e. 1920 x 1080 pixels. While the Lenovo P1 and ZenFone 3 Max have the IPS LCD display, Lenovo has made things better with the P2, which now has the Super AMOLED display.

The Vibe P1 was quite thick, with the 9.9mm thickness, but the company then found out a way to increase the battery capacity a bit but make the device sleeker and thus, the Lenovo P2 has a thickness of 8.3mm. On the other side, the ASUS ZenFone 3 Max as well has a thickness of 8.3mm.

Processor, RAM and Storage

All the three phones have a different power packed into them. While the Lenovo P1 had the Snapdragon 615 power along with 2GB of RAM, there was 32GB internal storage in it. The Lenovo P1 now has a better Snapdragon 625 processor and variants having 3GB or 4GB of RAM and the internal storage is the same – 32GB. ASUS has given its ZenFone 3 Max the power of Qualcomm Snapdragon 430, which is coming along with 2GB, 3GB and 4GB RAM variants and internal storage of 32GB.

All the devices have the same internal storage and a MicroSD card slot is given in all of them for the storage expansion.

OS and UI

Lenovo has worked to get the P1 its Marshmallow update and thus, both the phones from the company are running the Android Marshmallow OS with the Vibe UI layered over it. Not many differences in the UI but the Lenovo P2 has some additional features. On the other side, the ASUS ZenFone 3 Max runs Android Marshmallow with the ZenUI, which quite different and filled with apps and options.

In fact, even with the lesser capacity, ASUS claims that the ZenFone 3 Max will have a higher standby time at upto 912 hours, compared to the 768 hours in Lenovo P2 and 600 hours in Lenovo P1, all on 3G connectivity.
