BlackBerry launches DTEK50 and DTEK60 Android smartphones in India

Blackberry has introduced the DTEK50 back in July, and this, according to the company, is the world’s most secure Android smartphone. In the same series, the company in the last month has launched the DTEK60 device. Today, Blackberry has officially launched these phones in India adding to the blackberry’s India portfolio.

The best part about these smartphones is that they come with a secure bootloader with multi-stage verification to ensure that the Android OS hasn’t been tampered. This multi-stage verification helps protect your private data from hackers or any malicious tool. The device features FIPS 140-2 encryption, which will protect all the data stored and you can monitor any privacy violations with DTEK app.

DTEK50 Specifications and Features: The DTEK50 sports a 5.2-inches Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) scratch-resistant display and comes powered with Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 that is clocked at 1.5GHz processor with 550MHz Adreno 405 GPU. It packs 3GB RAM with 16GB internal storage that is further expandbale via a microSD card slot 2TB. The DTEK50 runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.

In the camera department, the blackberry DTEK50 features a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED Flash, PDAF, f/2.0 aperture, 6P lens and on the front, there is an 8-megapixel shooter with LED flash, f2.2, 84-degree wide angle lens for better selfies and video calls. the device measures at 147×72.5×7.4mm and Weighs 135g. Connectivity features include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4 GHz & 5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and NFC. A 2610mAh battery with fast charging is on board.

BlackBerry DTEK60 specifications and Features: The blackberry DTEK60 sports a relatively larger display at 5.5-inches Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) display. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC Quad-Core 64-bit processor with Adreno 530 GPU. It packs 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage with a microSD card slot for memory expansion.

The DTEK60 also runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow right out of the box. Talking about camera, the Blackberry DTEK60 features a 21-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED Flash, f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, and can record UHD 4K videos. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel shooter with f/2.2 aperture, 1.125um pixel size, 84-degree wide-angle lens and LED flash for bright low-light selfies and video calls. Unlike DTEK50, the DTEK60 rocks a Fingerprint sensor for extra security.

Blackberry DTEK60

Connectivity features include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and USB Type-C. A 3000mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 support on board. The device measure 153.9 x 75.4 x 7 mm and Weighs in at 165g.

Price and Availability: The BlackBerry DTEK50 and DTEK60 both come in Black color and the DTEK50 is priced at Rs. 21,990 and the DTEK60 is priced at Rs. 46,990, respectively. The BlackBerry DTEK50 will be available from November 13th, while the DTEK60 will be available from December in India.
