Gionee Marathon M5 launched with 6020mAh battery, 3GB RAM

Gionee has launched their latest smartphone in the M series, the Marathon M5, which is a successor to the Marathon M4. The device is Flipkart exclusive, and unlike the unit in China, the M5 in India has a combination of 32GB internal storage and 3GB of RAM. The Marathon M5 sports a 5.5-inch HD Display with resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. It is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor.

The main selling point on the M series by Gionee is the battery and the M5 has plenty of it, with a 6020 mAh massive battery it is the smartphone with one of the highest capacity battery in the market. Its predecessor the M4 had a 5000mA battery which has now been upgraded with the help of two 3010 mAh batteries to 6020 mAh.

The battery will last for more than a day with full usage and Gionee has also included an extreme power saver mode which is said to last the Marathon M5’s battery for 62hours on just five percent of charge. It supports reverse charging, it can be users as a power bank to charge other smartphones.

The Marathon M5 sports a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front-facing camera. It runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop based Amigo UI. The device supports LTE / HSPA+ along with other connectivity features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS.

The Marathon M5 is priced at Rs. 17999 and will be available on Flipkart.
