Samsung has recently launched two new devices, Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Galaxy Note 5 in its Unpacked 2015 event last week. There were earlier rumors before its launch, that the the Galaxy Note 5 will sport a 4100mAh battery, but the Note 5 ended up with a 3000mAh battery. With this new update the company is expected to launch a variant of the Note 5 with a 4100mAh battery and will be under the Active series.
Recently we saw an update of Galaxy Note 5 with Dual SIM which is set to be announced in the market soon. But with no Note devices seen in the Active series, we have to wait and see if there will be a Note 5 Active as rumored. There are many rumors doing rounds, with the launch date of the Note 5 Active reported to be in the 46th Week which comes around second week of November. Another report claims that Samsung will follow the Galaxy S6 Active path and will make the Galaxy Note 5 available exclusively on AT&T.
Samsung has maintained this pattern of launching their flagship phones with an under powered battery and then launching another variant in the Active series with a bigger capacity battery. We have seen in the case of Galaxy S6 which came with a 2550mAh battery and the Galaxy S6 Active in comparison was powered with a more sensible 3500mAh battery.
The Galaxy Note 5 Active might come with IP68 rating which makes it water resistant up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes, it will also be dust proof and shock proof. The Galaxy S6 Active was certified to withstand vibration, extreme temperature changes, humidity and high altitude. All of which we are expecting the Note 5 to be equipped with.
The availability of the Galaxy Note 5 Active is not yet known and with the Note 5 itself being available in select markets, the availability of Note 5 Active might be limited to some markets only. The Dual-SIM variant of the Note 5 was seen available for pre-orders in Philippines alone.
