Smartron t.phone launched in India with 5.5-inch display, Snapdragon 810

Smartron, the Indian electronics brand backed by former cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has launched its first smartphone, the t.phone, which comes with a 5.5-inch display, and it is one of the lightest smartphones with that screen size. The event was attended by Telangana’s minister of IT, KT Rama Rao, and Sachin Tendulkar, who is the strategic investor in the company.

The company had recently launched the t.book, a hybrid Windows 10 laptop with decent specifications for the price of Rs. 39999. The Smartron t.phone comes with a Full HD Super AMOLED display under the 5.5-inch screen (with the Apical Assertive technology) and under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 (v2.1, MSM8994) processor along with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM and Adreno 430 GPU. The device comes with 64GB internal storage, which can be further expanded using a MicroSD card. The t.cloud cloud storage feature gives unlimited cloud storage.

The camera combination included in the Smartron t.phone is a 13-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The rear camera is assisted with a Dual LED flash, and it is a 6-element lens. It is a USB Type-C port with Quick charge 2.0 technology, and a 3000 mAh battery is packed into the device, and it will be a non-removable battery.

The device, just like the Smartron t.book will come with the TronX platform that offers a lot in terms of service, cloud storage, and other software features – t.cloud, t.care, and t.store.

The back of the phone mentions as “Designed and Engineered in India”. It is a dual-tone color scheme and there are four color options to choose from. There is DTS surround sound system for the speakers. The t.phone is priced at Rs. 22999.
