ZUK recently released their first device, the Zuk Z1 in China, the company which is backed by Lenovo announced in their specifications list that the ZUK Z1 will be coming with Android 5.1 Lollipop with ZUI over it. But with the official announcement today, ZUK has revealed its partnership with Cyanogen, the ZUK Z1 international model will be coming with Cyanogen OS 12.1 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop.
Only the international version of the device will run on Cyanogen 12.1 OS and the regional variants will be running on the Android Lollipop 5.1 with ZUI over it. Coming to the features of the ZUK Z1 which sports a 5.5-inch full HD display with 1080p resolution. It is powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor and supported by 3GB LPPDR3 RAM. The device comes with 64GB internal storage.
The ZUK Z1 comes with 13MP rear or primary camera with dual LED flash and is capable of recording 1080p resolution videos. The front camera is a 8MP shooter which is great to shoot selfies. The mobile sports a massive 4100 mAh battery which also supports 2.5 amp fast charging with the help of the USB Type C port.
The smartphone supports 4G LTE in both its SIM slots, the device is targeted at the flagship killers from China, the companies like OnePlus and Xiaomi are the one’s which need to look out for this device as it has all the specifications and the pricing is also such that it might give some serious competition to the likes of OnePlus One, OnePlus Two, Xiaomi MI4 and the yet to be announced MI5.
With the partnership with Cyanogen, ZUK is surely taking on the OneOplus One by launching the international variant with the Cyanogen OS, the international launch press conference of the ZUK Z1 will be done on August 21st in Shenzhen. The event is said to be attended by Vikram Natarajan, Senior Vice President of Global Partnerships and Distribution for Cyanogen.
