Micromax has launched a new tablet device in the Canvas series, the Canvas Tab P680 which sports a 8-inch display and is priced at Rs. 9,499. The tablet is a 3G enabled device with dual SIM option, and it offers support for voice calling. Micromax already has many tablet devices in the Canvas series, like the Canvas Tabby, Canvas tab P690, Canvas Tab P480, Canvas tab P666 and Canvas Tab P470.
The Canvas Tab P680 comes with a 8-inch WXGA display with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels. It is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor with 1GB RAM support. It comes with 16GB internal memory which can be expanded using microSD card up to 32GB. It runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop based OS. It comes with pre-loaded apps like Clean Master, NewsHunt and WPS Office.
Vineet Taneja, CEO, Micromax Informatics, Commenting on the launch, said,
“With the launch of this new tablet model P680, users will get the best immersive audio and video experience, giving them full- fledged entertainment.”
The tablet comes with a 5MP rear camera with LED flash and Autofocus, in the front is a 2MP shooter. The device is powered by a 4000mAh battery and comes with all the basic connectivity features like Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 along with support for USB OTG and Micro-USB connectivity options. The tablet has been touted to give users good Audio and Video experience and Micromax has included built-in dual box speakers and metallic finish.
The pricing of the Canvas P680 is set at Rs. 9,499 in India, comparing it to the P690 which was priced at Rs. 8,999 and released earlier this year, there is not much of a difference between the two. The only differences which we can find is the presence of an Intel chip-set in the P690 which is not mentioned in the P680 along with the inclusion of Dual box speakers.
