LG has come out with a 10.1-inch tablet device in its G-Pad series, the G-Pad II which sports a 10.1-inch WUXGA display with a resolution of 1920×1200 pixels. The tablet has a thickness of just 7.8mm and comes with a soft metallic finish which is great to look and hold. LG said that the G Pad II comes with the slimmest bezel among similar tablets with the same screen size present in the market. The device measures 254.3×161.1×7.8mm in dimensions and weighs 489 grams. From the design and appearance aspect the LG G Pad II looks and feel very good.
The G Pad II is powered by a 2.26GHz Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, it is a decent upgrade from the last years LG G Pad I which was powered by a 1.2GHz Quad-Core processor. The RAM has also been upgraded to 2GB in comparison to the 1GB RAM in the G Pad I. It comes with 16GB of internal memory which can be further expanded with microSD card. The G Pad II runs on Android Lollipop 5.1.1.
Coming to the camera it sports a 5MP rear camera, which comes without flash and a 2MP front-facing camera. The G Pad II is powered by a 7400mAh Li-Po battery which is a downgrade from the 8000mAh battery seen in the G Pad I. The G Pad II supports 4G LTE along with the basic connectivity features like Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS. It comes with additional software features like Reader Mode, Dual Window, QuickMemo+ and Microsoft Office for Android pre-loaded. LG is also providing 100GB of free OneDrive storage for 2 years after which you need to renew the package.
LG has the LG G Pad II ready to be showcased in the IFA 2015 event to be held in Berlin from September 4th to 9th. After which the device will roll out in limited markets in Europe, North America and Asia. The pricing of the G Pad II will be announced in the local launches based on the region.
