Ledger has unveiled Ledger Atom at its Op3n 2026 event, expanding beyond conventional hardware wallets with a connected device for digital assets, identity, and AI agent approvals. Atom brings everyday apps and hardware-backed signing into one portable device.
Its central idea is to let users browse and interact with apps while keeping sensitive approvals in a separate security environment.
Android apps and Ledger OS on one device
Atom combines a hardened Android Open Source Project environment with Ledger OS running inside a separate Secure Element.
Everyday activity takes place in Standard Mode. When a supported action requires authorization, Secure Mode takes control of the display and touch panel. Ledger says hardware isolation prevents Standard Mode from reading or altering that approval process. A reserved Secure Bar indicates which environment controls the screen.
In practical terms, the design separates the app requesting an action from the hardware that displays and approves it.
A connected signer, with cellular data
Atom can connect directly to the internet and run Ledger Wallet without a separate phone or computer. However, it is a data-only mobile device: cellular voice calls, SMS, and emergency calls are unsupported. Internet-based calling apps can work over data or Wi-Fi.
That distinction makes Atom a companion for connected services and protected approvals rather than a complete replacement for a conventional phone.

A physical Privacy Switch disconnects the camera and microphones at the circuit level. Ledger also says both are automatically disabled during Secure Mode.
AI agents propose actions; users retain approval
Ledger Agent Intent collects requests from AI agents for users to review. Ledger says agents can propose transactions without holding the user’s private keys, with digital-asset movements requiring physical approval on the secure screen.
The system supports compatible Ledger signers, with Atom positioned as its main target device. OpenClaw integration is planned at launch.
This extends hardware signing to agent-driven workflows: an automated assistant can prepare an action while the owner retains the decision to authorize it.
Solana apps, identity and private messaging
Ledger says Atom will ship with Solana Mobile’s Seeker app preinstalled, providing access to the Solana dApp Store. It also announced Persona as an identity partner and is exploring deeper exchange integration with Payward, Kraken’s parent company.
Message encryption is another planned capability. Ledger describes using GPG/OpenPGP so compatible messages can be encrypted and read through Ledger OS, with Standard Mode handling encrypted text. The company describes this feature as coming later.
Ledger Atom price and availability
Ledger’s announcement lists the Founders Edition at $849, reservable with a fully refundable $100 deposit. The product page currently displays ₹92,029, with a ₹10,840 deposit, in its rupee pricing view.
The balance is payable upon completion of the purchase. Ledger cautions that currency conversion can change the final local-currency amount.
The shop advertises summer 2027 shipping; the announcement’s footnote gives an estimated Q2 2027 delivery window. Buyers are reserving a product that is still in development, with specifications, app availability, pricing, and delivery subject to change and pending relevant approvals.
Atom marks a broader direction for Ledger: hardware-backed approval for more of a user’s connected activity. How smoothly that works across everyday apps will become clearer when the finished device and supported integrations arrive.
