The French startup Ledger is quite known for the Nano S wallet and the Ledger Blue has come up with a next-gen solution with Bluetooth connectivity included – the Ledger Nano X. The inclusion of Bluetooth connectivity means you can now send and receive tokens from the wallet to your smartphone with that, without having to connect with a wired option with your PC.
For the smartphones, the company is going to launch an app called Ledger Live and this will have almost everything that the desktop app has, where you will be able to install new apps, check your coin balances, and also manage transactions. The security offered on the Ledger Nano X is similar to how it is with credit cards, with the private keys safely isolated inside the device’s certified secure element (CC EAL5+).

While the Nano X will take advantage of the Ledger Live app for the transfers, the same app can be used by the regular users, even the ones who own the Nano S but the functionality will be limited – you will only be able to check the balances because the addresses are public. The app is going live on 28th January.
For those wondering about the security offered by these USB Thumb-drive like devices, these are cold storage wallets where the private keys and information, and your coin holdings are kept in the wallet itself, and even if your computer or smartphone gets hacked, it doesn’t affect your crypto assets and no one would be able to access them.
