Phicomm, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer which entered the Indian market just recently with its Passion 660 smartphone, has now announced a budget smartphone with the 4G LTE connectivity.
The phone that will be exclusively sold on Amazon India, will be coming with a 5-inch HD display, and along with that is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor, a quad-core chipset clocking at 1.1 GHz, and with that is 1GB of RAM. The Energy 653 also has 8GB internal storage, which can be expanded with a MicroSD card, to a maximum of 64GB.
The Phicomm 653 is the latest release after the company launched the Passion 660 earlier in June this year. The Energy series smartphones are targeted at first-time smartphone users, the company wants to provide entry-level users with good hardware and software experience.
It has an 8-megapixel primary camera with aperture F/2.4, capable of shooting HD videos. The front facing camera is a basic 2MP shooter. It has 4G LTE and supports both Band 3 and Band 40 in India. With a price tag of Rs. 4,999 it is one of the cheapest phones with 4G LTE support. It comes with Dual SIM but there is no update about the Dual SIM 4G support in India.
It is powered by a 2300 mAh battery and will be running on Android 5.1 Lollipop with Phicomm Expect UI 5.0 over it. The basic design of the Phicomm Energy 653 seems much like the Redmi Note series with a glossy plastic back cover, and sporting a simple minimalistic design. It is available in two colors White and Black exclusively on Amazon India. Phicomm is doing a great job by including a 5-inch HD display with Snapdragon 210 processor and 4G LTE support at a price tag of Rs. 4,999, this device will be competing with the likes of Xiaomi Redmi 2, Moto E and Honor Holly which are in the similar price range.
