The iQOO Z11 Lite has arrived in India as a battery-focused affordable 5G smartphone. Its effective launch price starts at ₹17,999 with an eligible bank discount, placing it close to the POCO M8 5G, which was introduced at ₹18,999 and continues to appear around the ₹20,000 mark during offers.
Both phones promise a smooth 120Hz display, 5G connectivity and a 50MP primary camera, but their priorities are quite different. The iQOO offers a considerably larger battery, while the POCO delivers a sharper AMOLED display, faster processor and more generous base memory. Here is how the two compare on paper.

Design and display
The iQOO Z11 Lite has a 6.74-inch LCD with a 1600 x 720-pixel resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1,200 nits high-brightness mode. The Solar Flame finish adds a marble-like pattern, while the Midnight Blue version offers a more restrained appearance. Its side-mounted fingerprint reader and waterdrop-style notch underline its budget positioning.
The POCO M8 5G is the clear display winner. Its 6.77-inch curved AMOLED panel offers an FHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and a much higher advertised peak brightness. Text, photographs and streaming content should appear noticeably sharper, with the deeper contrast expected from an AMOLED panel. The POCO is also considerably slimmer and lighter, measuring around 7.35mm and weighing approximately 178g, compared with the heavier 209g iQOO.

Performance and software
iQOO uses the MediaTek Dimensity 6300, an entry-level 5G processor suited to messaging, video streaming, social applications and lighter games. The POCO M8 uses the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, which has newer performance cores and substantially stronger graphics. It should provide smoother gaming, faster app loading and more usable performance over the phone’s lifespan.
The memory configurations strengthen POCO’s advantage. Its base version includes 6GB RAM, whereas the iQOO begins with 4GB. Anyone intending to multitask or keep the phone for several years should avoid the 4GB iQOO configuration if the budget permits.
The iQOO launches with the newer Android 16-based OriginOS 6 and is promised two Android upgrades and four years of security updates. The POCO starts on Android 15-based HyperOS 2, but POCO promises four Android version upgrades and six years of security updates. HyperOS may include more preinstalled applications and recommendations, but POCO’s longer support commitment makes it the stronger long-term choice.

Cameras
Both phones use a 50MP primary rear camera without optical image stabilisation. The iQOO specifies a Sony main sensor, accompanied by a very low-resolution auxiliary sensor. POCO adds a 2MP depth camera, but neither secondary camera meaningfully expands the shooting experience.
The larger difference is at the front. POCO provides a 20MP selfie camera, compared with the iQOO’s basic 5MP camera. POCO also supports 4K recording from its rear camera, making it the more versatile option for social-media video and video calls. Actual image quality will still depend on processing, so this verdict is based on hardware capabilities rather than a side-by-side camera test.

Battery life and charging
Battery capacity is where the iQOO Z11 Lite makes its strongest case. Its 6,500mAh battery is nearly 1,000mAh larger than the POCO’s 5,520mAh unit. Both support similar charging speeds—44W on the iQOO and 45W on the POCO—but the iQOO also includes reverse wired charging and Bypass Charging 2.0. The latter can power the phone directly during gaming to reduce battery stress and heat.
The POCO should still comfortably handle a normal day, and its AMOLED screen can be efficient with dark content. Nevertheless, heavy users, travellers and students who spend long periods away from a charger should get greater endurance from the iQOO.

Price and value
The iQOO Z11 Lite is priced at ₹19,499 for 4GB/128GB, ₹21,499 for 6GB/128GB and ₹24,499 for 6GB/256GB. A ₹1,500 bank offer reduces the effective prices when applicable. Sales begin on July 30 through Amazon, the iQOO online store and retail partners.
The POCO M8 launched at ₹18,999 for 6GB/128GB, ₹19,999 for 8GB/128GB and ₹21,999 for 8GB/256GB. However, its market price has moved upwards after launch and may cross ₹20,000 without a sale or bank offer. Buyers should therefore compare the final checkout prices instead of relying on launch pricing.
Verdict: Which one should you buy?
For most buyers, the POCO M8 5G is the better all-round phone if it is available at or near ₹20,000. Its FHD+ AMOLED display, Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, 6GB base RAM, better selfie camera, slimmer design and longer update policy outweigh the iQOO’s battery advantage.
Choose the iQOO Z11 Lite if battery endurance is your first priority, you prefer OriginOS 6, or the ₹17,999 bank-offer price is the maximum you want to spend. It is also the better fit for extended gaming sessions where Bypass Charging can be useful. However, the 4GB base RAM and HD+ LCD are difficult compromises at its regular ₹19,499 price.
Our recommendation: Buy the POCO M8 5G when its 6GB/128GB version is available for roughly ₹20,000. Pick the iQOO Z11 Lite mainly for its larger battery or a meaningfully lower effective price.
