OnePlus has launched the OnePlus N6 Lite in India as an affordable smartphone focused primarily on battery life and everyday use. The handset features a 7,000mAh battery, a 120Hz display, expandable storage and several AI-powered photography tools.
The OnePlus N6 Lite is priced at ₹16,999 for its sole 4GB RAM and 64GB storage configuration. It is now available through OnePlus’ online and offline channels in India.
OnePlus N6 Lite price and availability in India
The OnePlus N6 Lite costs ₹16,999 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant. Customers using eligible bank cards for EMI transactions can receive an instant discount of up to ₹750, bringing the effective price down to ₹16,249. The discount is subject to the applicable bank, card and EMI conditions.
Buyers can choose between Midnight Hype and Neo Green colour options. The phone went on sale on September 22 through OnePlus.in, the OnePlus Store app, Amazon India, OnePlus Experience Stores and selected retail outlets.
7,000mAh battery with reverse charging
Battery life is the main attraction of the OnePlus N6 Lite. It carries a 7,000mAh battery that OnePlus claims can deliver up to three days of use under its testing conditions. The company also claims up to 26.8 hours of video playback, although actual endurance will depend on display brightness, connectivity, installed applications and individual usage patterns.
The phone supports 15W wired charging. While the large battery should help users go longer between charges, the relatively modest charging speed means a complete recharge could take some time. There is also 5W wired reverse charging, allowing the N6 Lite to supply power to compatible accessories and other devices using a cable.
OnePlus says the battery is designed to retain at least 80 percent of its original capacity after 1,600 charging cycles, equivalent to approximately six years based on the company’s laboratory model.
6.75-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate
The OnePlus N6 Lite has a 6.75-inch LCD with an HD+ resolution of 1570 × 720 pixels. Its 120Hz refresh rate should make scrolling, animations and supported games appear smoother than they would on a conventional 60Hz screen.
The panel offers up to 900 nits of high-brightness output. OnePlus has also included Aqua Touch, which is designed to maintain touchscreen responsiveness when the display is wet or has moisture or oil on it.
While the refresh rate is competitive for the price, buyers should note that this is an HD+ LCD rather than a sharper Full HD+ or AMOLED panel.
UNISOC processor, 4GB RAM and expandable storage
The smartphone is powered by the octa-core UNISOC T7250 processor. It comes with 4GB of physical RAM and supports up to 8GB of virtual RAM by temporarily using a portion of the internal storage.
Virtual RAM should not be confused with physical memory and is unlikely to provide the same performance benefits as a phone equipped with more built-in RAM. The 64GB of UFS 2.2 storage can be expanded by up to 2TB using a microSD card, which is not included with the phone.
OnePlus is promoting 36-Month Fluency Protection for the device. This refers to internal performance testing intended to demonstrate that the software remains responsive over time; it is not the same as a guarantee of three years of Android version updates.
The OnePlus N6 Lite is a 4G smartphone and does not support 5G connectivity. That is an important consideration when comparing it with similarly priced models in India.
13MP camera with a software-generated 50MP mode
On the back, the OnePlus N6 Lite carries a 13MP main camera with autofocus. It can record videos at up to 1080p resolution and 30 frames per second. The camera application includes a High-Res mode that produces images with a 50MP output.
However, OnePlus’ official product information clarifies that these images are generated through software upscaling from the 13MP camera rather than captured by a native 50MP sensor. A 5MP camera on the front handles selfies and video calls.
The phone also includes AI Eraser for removing unwanted objects from photographs and AI Clear Face for improving facial details in group pictures. Google Gemini is available for AI-assisted queries, ideas and everyday tasks. The availability and limits of individual AI features can vary, and some functionality may require software updates.
Design and durability
Despite the large battery, the OnePlus N6 Lite measures 8.95mm thick and weighs approximately 215 grams. It has an IP64 rating, providing protection against dust and splashes of water.
The handset has also undergone MIL-STD-810H testing for resistance to selected environmental and physical conditions. These ratings add some reassurance for everyday use, although they do not make the phone waterproof or immune to damage from drops.
