Gionee Marathon M4 is the latest offering from Gionee, coming with the same whooping battery capacity of 5000 mAh that the M3 had, but there are some interesting changes brought into the device, including a full metal body unlike the plastic body that we saw on the Marathon M3.
This comes after the announcement of the Marathon M5, the major successor in the Marathon series from Gionee, and the M5 had a 6020 mAh dual battery. The phone isn’t yet available as we write this, but the Marathon M4 is already out in the market, and the price for Marathon M4 in India, is Rs. 15499.
The Marathon M4 comes with a 5-inch HD AMOLED display, a 1.3 GHz 64-bit quad-core processor, and there is Android 5.0 Lollipop based Amigo 3.0 OS running in the device. This is the new version of Amigo UI from Gionee, and it comes with some pre-installed apps, including HotKnot and a specially designed music player.
The device supports 4G connectivity on both the SIM slots, and there is also support for USB OTG connectivity, a cable for which is provided in the box package. Supporting the processor is 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage, while a MicroSD card slot helps in storage expansion.
Mr. Timir Baran Acharyya, GM, Gionee India said
“Marathon M4 is a result of Gionee’s consistent understanding of the rising demand for a device that not just looks great on the specs sheet, but also demonstrates an impeccable performance.Consumers today love to be connected on the go and are always on the lookout for powerful devices and M4 answers exactly that. With an exceptional battery life and powerful multimedia experience, M4 is sure to set the bar a notch higher”
There is an 8-megapixel camera on the back, and a front 5-megapixel camera included. The weight of the device is expectedly high, at 176 gm, and most of it is contributed by the large battery. The company claims that the 5000 mAh battery is capable of providing 50 hours of talk time, or 440 hours of standby time.
The phone is available in White and Black options and it will be available on both, online and offline stores.
