Moto X4 is official with Dual-lens rear camera, Snapdragon 630, IP68

The Moto X series finally gets an upgrade as Motorola (or Moto by Lenovo) chooses IFA 2017 event to announce the new Moto X4. The Moto X 4th gen. comes with a 5.2-inch display and the highlight of the device is the dual-lens camera combination on the back.

A contoured glass on the back joins the glass on the front with a metal frame on the side of the Moto X4 and the precision-crafted device is water resistant with the IP68 certification. There is Gorilla Glass protection on the top of the display that is 5.2-inch in size and thanks to the 1080p resolution, it gets a pixel density of 424 PPI.

Under the hood, the Moto X4 has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor (octa-core CPU clocking at 2.2 GHz, Adreno 508 GPU), and while there is 3GB/4GB of RAM, the device has 32GB/64GB internal storage with a MicroSD storage expansion offered for up to 2TB. Running the Android 7.1 Nougat OS, the Moto X4 offers the experience with the Moto app that includes Moto Voice and Moto Actions. To add to the user experience, there is support for Amazon Alexa and you can access that without even having to unlock the screen.

For the imaging, as mentioned above as the highlight, there is a combination of 12MP Dual Autofocus Pixel sensor with F/2.0 aperture and an 8MP ultra-wide angle with 120° field of view, having a F/2.2 aperture. The cameras are supported by the Color Correlated Temperature (CCT) dual LED flash, and there is Phase Detection AutoFocus. Thanks to the inclusion of two cameras on the back, depth detection is possible and thus, the selective focus feature is given here, and Moto X4 also has the selective Black and White that is still in the beta stage. For the selfie lovers, the device comes with a 16-megapixel camera with the F/2.0 aperture, and there is a Selfie flash as well. A low light mode is given for selfies in low light that would make the pixel size bigger but the pictures are limited to 4MP resolution. The rear camera is capable of capturing 4K videos at 30 fps.

The connectivity options included in the Moto X4 are Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, 4G LTE with multiple band support, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C, NFC, and GPS. The device also has a set of sensors including Fingerprint Reader, Gravity, Proximity, Accelerometer, Ambient Light, Magnetometer, Gyroscope, and Sensor Hub. While the Moto X4 has a 3000 mAh battery packed in and claimed to offer over a day’s usage, the 15W TurboPower charger would help give 6 hours of power with just 15 minutes of charging.
