LG Q8 with 6.2-inch display, IP68 Certification, Hi-Fi Quad DAC launched in Korea

LG has launched the successor to the recently launched LG Q7, the LG Q8, today, in Korea. The phone comes with a Snapdragon processor and is Military Standard certified.

The LG Q8 sports a 6.2-inch IPS LCD screen with a 19:8 aspect ratio and a resolution of 1080×2160 pixels. The screen also supports input through the bundled Stylus. The Stylus offers features such as pop-memo, GIF editing and many more. Underneath the hood, the Q8 packs in a Snapdragon 450 chipset with Adreno 504 GPU. It comes with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB of internal storage, expandable up to 2 TB using a microSD card. The phone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with LG’s custom UI on top.

As for the cameras, the LG Q8 comes with a single 16 MP rear-facing camera which comes with Phase Detection AutoFocus. Assisting the rear camera is an LED flash. To the front, the phone comes with a 5 MP selfie shooter which has super wide 100° field of view.

The LG Q8 comes with a 3300 mAh battery which supports Quick Charge 3.0 for faster top-ups. The phone has support for 4G VoLTE, 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS/ GLONASS.

As for the ports, the phone comes with a USB Type C 2.0 port for charging and data syncing, as well as a 3.5 mm headphone jack. The headphone has a built-in Hi-Fi Quad DAC, a feature which is found on the flagship models from LG. The DAC support Hi-Fi audio playback with DTS:X 3D surround sound support.

The LG Q8 comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. For added resilience and durability, the phone is IP68 Water, and Dust Resistance Certified as well as MIL-STD 810G certified. The phone weighs 172 gms and is 8.4 mm thick.

Pricing and Availability of LG Q8

The LG Q8 comes in Aurora Black and Morrocan Blue colors. The phone is priced at KRW 539,000 (USD 470/ INR 32,869) and will soon go on sale in Korea.

  1. This phone certainly has a lot to offer specially the IP68 watrr resistance but the price of 32k for a SD450 powered phone is not right no matter how you look at it..
