Selfie craze is not going anywhere and it is here to stay, and brands are giving the users the right choices by including perfect selfie cameras that get the perfect job done when trying to capture selfies. It isn’t only the perfect face or the pose that is required to capture a good one that you can feel good about because the device you are holding to capture the selfie also needs to have enough.

Here, we are talking about the latest good phone from Vivo, the Vivo V5s with a 20-megapixel front-facing camera and a decent design. Now, just having a great camera isn’t enough and there’s a lot more that goes into making a great selfie that you can appreciate. Let’s talk about those factors.

Camera Resolution

The higher the resolution, the better the photo comes out. The Vivo V5s has a 20MP selfie camera sensor which makes it one of the best selfie camera phones. The selfie comes out in a high quality and can later also be cropped if needed without spoiling the quality of the photo much. There are also few other factors that matter even if you have a high-resolution camera. Those are the sensor size and the aperture.

Sensor size

Here, it is the opposite. The larger the camera sensor, the better the color and sharpness of the image come out. The large sensor also helps in taking some good photos in the low-light conditions. Small sensor results in noise and poor quality of the images. The V5s has a relatively big sensor which lets you take some of the best photos.

Aperture

This allows the amount of the light that enters into the sensor. So, bigger the hole, the higher the brightness of the photos which helps to take some good photos in low-light conditions. The Vivo V5s has a 20MP f/2.0 aperture which is good enough for taking some decent selfies even in the low-light. And even if you see the other phones, they must be offering a lower resolution sensor with a good aperture which doesn’t make them any better than the V5s.

Camera UI and Modes

Vivo V5s camera features

Even if you have all the above mentioned, they won’t make any good until you have a good camera app that works the best for you. The V5s has several modes in taking photos, but when taking selfies, the filters and beautification are all that matters. For that, the V5s provides the best beautification technology which makes the selfies looks natural and pretty. It also has a manual beautification mode in which you set the filters manually.

Selfie Flash

The flashlight backs you up whenever you are taking selfies in low-light conditions. However, the photos taken come out looking a bit unnatural making them look poor. Vivo has a different technology for the front flash which they call the Moonlight selfie flash. The Moonlight flash helps you in taking wonderful selfies even in low-light conditions without spoiling the quality and making them look natural.

Externally, i.e. something that is not influenced by what is included in the smartphone is the condition in which you are taking the selfie. The light conditions on the background are very important and whichever the camera used, if there is excessive odd light behind you, the exposure goes for a toll and the selfie doesn’t come out as good as expected.

The Vivo V5s is otherwise a great phone with several good features but the highlight among them will be the selfie camera. It packs so much on the camera aspect, no wonder it does so well in capturing the smiles.
