Samsung T5 portable SSD launched in India, priced from Rs. 13500

Samsung Electronics today launched the Samsung Portable SSD T5 – the newest portable solid state drive (PSSD) in the Indian market. The new SSDs come with the 64-layer V-NAND technology that is said to offer higher transfer speeds with encrypted data security.

The dimensions of the Samsung T5 are 74 x 57.3 x 10.5 millimeters and it weighs just about 51 grams. These SSDs are made to be withstanding accidental drops of up to 2 meters (6.6 feet) 2 due to no moving parts and a shock-resistant internal frame. The SSD software for PCs and Macs are based on AES 256-bit hardware data encryption and they help in sending software updates to the drive.

As far as the specs are concerned, the Samsung T5 SSD is able to offer transfer speeds of up to 540 Mbps. A mobile app is also available for smartphones and the SSD comes with the USB Type-C port, with the package bringing along the USB Type-C to A cable.

To be made available in two colors, i.e. Deep Black (1TB and 2TB models) and Alluring Blue (250GB and 500GB models), the new SSDs are now available across all major retail outlets.
