Coolpad Cool VR 1x

Coolpad Cool VR 1x VR headset launched in India for Rs. 999

Coolpad has launched a VR headset, the Cool VR 1x in India, with a price tag of Rs. 999 and the headset has stabilizing head straps and customizable lenses as well. The Cool VR 1x is aimed at offering immersive VR experience and it adds to the list of headsets offered by different OEMs in India.

Earlier to this, Lenovo was selling the ANTVR headset for the price of Rs. 1399 and Zebronics ZEB VR was a rather sturdy and good option with almost the same price. Coolpad’s offering at a lesser price will add to the competition and give the users an additional choice if they are tight on budget.

The screen sizes supported are from 4.7-inch to 5.7-inch and the VR headset supports most of the smartphones, although Coolpad specified about its smartphone range, the Coolpad Note 3, Note 3 Lite, and Max. The straps provided keep the headset well placed and fixed even if you are moving your head around.

Coolpad India hasn’t offered any other product apart from its list of smartphones in India, so this will be the first accessory from them. And this won’t be the only accessory, as the company is planning to launch a smartwatch and a power bank as well this year.

Syed Tajuddin, CEO, Coolpad India said:

With visual reality being the new fun gadget for the Y generation and fast catching up with youth, we are eager to enter this space and offer the ‘Cool VR’ to our fans. This launch is in line with our strategy to bring Coolpad’s accessories to the Indian market and we will be soon unveiling other products in this growing segment such as Power Bank and Smart Watch by 2016.
