Doorbird unveils Smart Doorbell with Facial Recognition at CES 2016

Bird Home Automation has been in the market for quite some time with their smart doorbells one of which being the Doorbird Video Doorbell. The company has unveiled their latest model called Doorbird Smart Doorbell which comes with an a added feature of Facial recognition making it first of its kind.

The Smart Doorbell comes equipped with Facial Recognitions software which will be able to distinguish specific friends and family members from strangers and alert you whenever someone is at the door. When the Doorbell rings the facial recognition software with the help of video analytics recognises the person between a friend or family member or a stranger and will let you know.

After you have got the information about the person at the door you can talk to them using the built-in speaker and microphone set up in the Doorboard unit. There are not many details revealed yet about the process of feeding the information about friends and family members.

The company is also announcing Doorbird Connect for their Doorbells. This makes it possible to unlock your front door remotely when a friend or family member arrives, this takes help from third-party devices such as August, Kevo and Liftmaster locks to get this feature.

With the Smart Doorbell, cloud recording option is available and the video data will be stored for 7 days to help record the people who have been at your doorstep or any break in. To get alerts in case of any unwanted entry the company is also planning to launch a sensor for it. The details about the availability and pricing have not yet been revealed along with some other details which will be updated as they arrive.
