Android N name undecided – Google wants your help in deciding one! [Not seriously]

While the Google I/O 2016 event is underway, there is a flurry of announcements happening already. One of them was about the Google Home assistant, and the others were about Allo and Duo. But when the time for Android N came in, everyone was expecting to see the name of the new Android OS version, only to see that Google hasn’t decided on one yet.

In fact, Google wants users to help in deciding the name of the Android N OS. Although the beta version is launched at the event, there is time for the actual name to be announced and you can suggest a name for the same.

Android N name suggestion

Go to www.android.com/n and you will be able to suggest a name starting with letter N, and even though anything is accepted, you better be giving a name of a dessert as Google surely won’t be moving away from the tradition of naming the Android versions after desserts in an alphabetical order.

You can suggest the name till June 8th, 11:59 p.m. PT, and while Google is thanking you for the suggestion, the message is clear that your suggestions will not be judged and there will be no prizes or compensation awarded to any participant. It is for entertainment purpose!

What would you suggest? Nutella? Nachos? Nougat? or do you have any other good desserts in mind, that begin with the letter N? share them here. Google also shared a few new features and improvements done to Android N from when it was previously announced, and now the beta version is out today. Google said that the N Developer Preview got a great response and several developers have been working on it every day.

  • Vulcan graphics API will be seen in the Android N, and it is said to be making the graphics delivery better with a higher efficiency.
  • The multitasking menu will now have only seven recent apps as these are mostly the ones people jump back to.
  • The multitasking menu will now have even a “Clear All” button that will kill all the running apps at once.
  • Split-screen and picture-in-picture modes are coming to Android. This will help in doing two activities at the same time on the screen.
  • Quick reply to messages directly from the notification section.

There is a lot more added to the list, but for now, let’s work on the name and help Google in deciding one.
