Samsung launches the Galaxy Note8 with Dual-lens rear camera, 3300 mAh battery

Samsung will want to forget, or rather learn from what happened last year, as the company officially launches the Galaxy Note8. The Note7 received the bad PR for the battery blast fiasco, but the fans surely would have waited long to see the company come back with an answer, a much better one and here it is, with the looks of the much-popular Galaxy S8 and the size just bigger than that of the Galaxy S8+.

The device is coming in midnight black, deepsea blue, orchid gray, and maple gold. Coming with the infinity display, the Samsung Galaxy Note8 has the 18.5:9 aspect ratio for its 6.3-inch display. The resolution here is 2960×1440 pixels, which gives it a pixel density of 521 PPI. What the Note series from Samsung is known for is the S Pen, and here, it is an advanced pen with some good features. Internally, the Galaxy Note8 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and along with that is 6GB of RAM and variants having 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB storage options and the Note8 also has the MicroSD card slot for storage expansion.

On the imaging front, this is the first flagship from the company to have the dual-lens rear camera combination with the primary 12MP camera having dual pixel autofocus and F/1.7 aperture, and the secondary 12MP camera having a telephoto lens, F/2.4 aperture, and it offers 2X optical zoom. Both the cameras have optical image stabilization and on the front, the device has an 8-megapixel camera with the F/1.7 aperture. The camera can record 4K videos at 30 fps.

Samsung hasn’t changed the place for the fingerprint sensor, which still is located adjacent to the rear camera setup. Just like the Galaxy S8, the Galaxy Note8 has the IP68 certification for the water resistance and there is USB Type-C connectivity and support for the fast charging for the 3300 mAh battery. There is Bluetooth 5.0, dual-band Wi-Fi support, MST, NFC, and 4G with VoLTE. The Galaxy Note8 weighs 195 grams and the dimensions of the device are 162.5 x 74.8 x 8.6mm.

The device has a plethora of sensors included, namely Iris sensor, Pressure sensor, Accelerometer, Barometer, Fingerprint sensor, Gyro sensor, Geomagnetic sensor, Hall sensor, HR sensor, Proximity sensor, and RGB light sensor.
