WhatsApp for Android gets Starred Messages option with new Update

This useful feature which was seen in WhatApp for iPhone users has made its way to Android users as well, the Starred Messages option which lets users mark any message, audio file, photo or video file as starred to make it easier to view later. This is something like you Bookmark in your browser, you bookmark any link or website you would like you view later, which can be accessed later easily at one place.

The same is possible with this new feature which allows you to keep the important messages, images, audio files or video files at one place for easy access, earlier if you wanted to search for some important message you had to scroll through the huge number of messages or search which give multiple similar messages, wasting a lot of time especially in groups where the chat goes on and on all day long.

The process is pretty simple as well, by just tapping and holding the message which you want to be bookmark or star you can save it in a Starred Messages tab. To know that you have starred the message check for a star icon on the side of the message. And if you have accidentally starred a message which you want to remove from the list just tap and hold on the message in the same manner and you can now tap on the crossed star icon in the pop-up windows which appears to unstar it.

To get the update you need to install the latest update in Version 2.12.338 which brings the starred option to your WhatsApp, there was an update of Version 2.12.337 which first bought the update to the device which was having a small bug and fixed with the new update. In case you are on Android Marshmallow you get the Direct share option which will bring WhatsApp as an option when sharing anything from other apps and even contacts to which you have spoken recently or are most interactive with.
