ASUS ZenFone 3 Max with 4100 mAh battery launched in India

Expanding the ZenFone 3 series, ASUS has launched the ZenFone 3 Max in India with two variants. Coming with the model numbers ZC553KL and ZC520TL, the ZenFone 3 Max has the models with 5.5-inch and 5.2-inch displays respectively. As the name suggests for the series, it is the high capacity battery life that is the USP for the devices.

The ZenFone 3 Max comes with an aluminum-alloy body with rounded edges, 2.5D contoured display glass and there are several differences internally for both the variants, which we discuss below to check how the variants differ and what is on offer.

ZenFone 3 Max 5.2-inch variant (ZC520TL)

The 5.2-inch model has a 720p display, Quad-core 64-bit processor (probably MediaTek) with Mali T720 GPU, 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage and a MicroSD card slot for the storage expansion. For the cameras, there is a 13MP camera on the back and a 5-megapixel camera on the front of the device.

ZenFone 3 Max 5.5-inch variant (ZC553KL)

The bigger variant has a better screen resolution, i.e. a 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution, and the phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor, along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage, with the option of storage expansion. The camera combination is different a well, as the device has a 16-megapixel rear camera with phase detection autofocus and laser autofocus, while on the front is an 8-megapixel camera.

Common specifications in both the variants

A 4100 mAh battery is given with the Super battery saving mode and the reverse charging functionality, but the device sadly does not support fast charging. For the audio output there is ICEpower enhanced speaker, Dual microphone with noise cancellation, and Audio Wizard for enhanced audio experience. Both the variants have a fingerprint scanner on the back, and the OS running in the devices is Android 6.0.1. Marshmallow with the ZenUI 3.0 layered over it.

The device has Dual SIM support but the second SIM slot is a hybrid one, supporting either a MicroSD card or a Nano SIM card. Both the models have the USB OTG support, Bluetooth 4.1, 4G LTE, and GPS.

Through Zenfone 3 Max, we have been able to combine high-end aesthetics, a great photography experience, as well as a battery that ensures that users can enjoy their smartphone experience for longer durations without having to look for a plug point.”

Zenfone 3 Max ZC520TL is available from today in all the major E-tailers and Retailers in India. Zenfone 3 Max ZC553KL will be available by end of November 2016. Both models will be available in three metallic colors – Titanium Gray, Glacier Silver, and Sand Gold.

The price for the smaller model is Rs. 12999 while the bigger one is priced at Rs. 17999.
