Honor 8 Pro Review

Honor 8 Pro launched in India with Dual-lens camera, 6GB of RAM for Rs. 29999

Back in April 2017, the Honor 8 Pro was announced in the U.K. and in the European market and now, the company has finally taken its wraps off their Pro variant for the gorgeous Honor 8 smartphone that was earlier launched in India. The Honor 8 Pro comes in as a competitor to the much hyped OnePlus 5 smartphone that was recently launched with the 6GB and 8GB RAM variants and the Honor 8 has a single one with 6GB of RAM. The pricing though is a bit better with the phone being launched at Rs. 29999.

The smartphone comes with a 5.7-inch Quad HD display (2560 x 1440 pixels) and it has the LTPS LCD display along with the 2.5D curved glass. The resolution gives the screen a pixel density of 515 PPI. The phone is powered by the Kirin 960 octa-core processor that is clocking at 2.4 GHz. Along with that is Mali G71 GPU and 6GB of RAM, with the device having 64GB internal storage and allowing the user to expand the storage using a MicroSD card, further by 128GB.

Honor 8 Pro Back

The Honor 8 Pro shifts from the all-glass body that was on the Honor 8 and thus, you find a metallic back plate on this upgrade. The device runs Android Nougat based EMUI 5.0 that has recently brought in a lot of new features and upgrades to the current ones.

Honor has been making a mark with the camera optics and even this time, the Honor 8 Pro continues to have the same camera combination on the back with one 12-megapixel RGB sensor and one 12-megapixel monochrome sensor. This combination is assisted by a Dual-tone LED flash and the camera itself has F/2.2 aperture. The front of the device has an 8-megapixel camera with the F/2.0 aperture. The other features in the device include a fingerprint sensor on the back and the Infrared sensor to help use it as a quick remote.

For the connectivity, the Honor 8 Pro comes with 4G LTE with VoLTE, Dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS, NFC, and there is USB Type-C connectivity. A 4000 mAh battery is packed in for a day’s use at the least and that has the fast charging support as well.

The smartphone is priced at Rs. 29999 and it will be available from 10th July on Amazon India.
