Days after launching the Infie 3 and Infie 33 smartphones, Intex has introduced their latest smartphone, the Intex Indie 5, today, in India. Unlike the Infie phones which have a modern 18:9 screens the Indie 5 comes with a 16:9 display.

The Intex Indie 5 sports a 5-inch HD IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels. A Dragontrail 2.5D curved glass covers the traditional 16:9 display that has a pixel density of 294 PPI. Powering the phone is a MediaTek 6737 chipset, clocking at 1.25 GHz. It comes with 2 GB RAM with 16 GB of internal storage, expandable up to 128 GB. The phone runs on Android 7.0 Oreo.
For the cameras, the Intex Indie 5 uses an 8 MP rear-facing AutoFocus camera. To the front, it comes with an 8MP front-facing fixed focus camera. An LED flash accompanies both the rear and front camera. The cameras include features such as HDR, Beautification mode and Panorama.

The Intex Indie 5 comes with a 4000 mAh battery which is said to offer up to 200 hours of standby time, 12 hours of GSM and 6 hours of LTE talk time. For connectivity, the phone comes with 4G VoLTE, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and aGPS. The phone has a 3.5 mm headphone jack for audio and a micro USB port for charging and OTG support.
The Intex Indie 5 comes with a built-in QR code scanner app, as well as Gaana and Prime Video apps, pre-installed. It also has SwiftKey keyboard preinstalled out of the box.
Pricing and Availability of Intex Indie 5
The Intex Indie 5 comes in Black color. The phone is priced at INR 4,999 and will be available through all major retail outlets across India.
