LG G6

This is how the LG G6 might look

Though we will surely miss the Samsung’s Flagship launch during MWC 2017 event, LG is going full out and is all set to launch the G6; its next flagship smartphone at MWC. Though we never really got to see the LG G6, now folks at The Verge got their hands on the first image of the upcoming LG G6.

Falling in line with earlier leaks, the G6 is expected to sport a large 5.7-inches Quad HD display with the usual aspect ratio of 2:1 and minimal bezels on the either sides of the screen. With an aim to make an all-screen phone, the LG G6 will have 90% screen to body ratio with Xiaomi Mi MIX as its close competitor. Though we don’t get to see the bottom of the device, we only expect it to be slightly taller than the top bezel. And, just like the Mi MIX, the G6 will also have curved display corners.

Ditching the modular design adopted for G5, LG is going with full metal and glass body design giving a final farewell from the unpleasant plastic body design for their flagships over the years. It will have the 3.5mm audio jack and will also be water resistant with a battery unit that is no longer replaceable. Though LG has finally moved away from the plastic build, elements like rear design, center mounted Fingerprint sensor; dual camera setup will still be adopted from the G5.

LG is in some real tight spot having failed to generate decent returns from its smartphones biz and also huge set back with the modular experiment last year; the company seriously need to show some difference to turn some eyes with the G6. But can LG pull this feat? Only time will tell. Stay tuned for more coverage.
