Motorola Moto G5 and G5 Plus with Android Nougat go official at MWC 2017

Just as it promised, Lenovo has launched the Moto G5 and G5 Plus at the MWC 2017 event. The Moto G5 and G5 are the successors to the last year’s G4 and G4 Plus. Both the Moto G5 and G5 Plus run on Android 7.0 Nougat and pack full metal curvaceous design. Let’s check out the detailed specifications list of both these smartphones.

The Motorola Moto G5 Plus Specifications: The Moto G5 Plus sports a 5.2-inches  Full HD (1920×1080) display that accounts to a pixel density of 424 ppi and comes with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC clocked at 2GHz Octa-Core processor with Adreno 506 GPU. The device packs 2/3/4GB RAM with 16/32/64GB internal storage depending on the region you are. It comes with a microSD card slot for memory expansion up to 128GB. Being a Motorola device, it runs on Android 7.0 Nougat with stock U.I right out of the box.

Moving to the camera, the G5 Plus features a 12-megapixel f/1.7, 1.4-micron pixels, dual AF pixels, LED flash and a 5-megapixel front shooter with f/2.2, 1.4-micron pixels for selfies and video calls. There is also a Fingerprint sensor for extra security and has Water-repellant nano-coating. Connectivity features include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11n dual-band, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, GPS, microUSB port. A 3000mAh removable battery with Turbocharging is on board.

The Motorola Moto G5 Specifications: Moving on to the smaller brother, the Moto G5, it sports a smaller 5-inches Full HD (1920 X 1080) LCD display and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC clocked at 1.4GHz Octa-Core processor with Adreno 505 GPU. It packs 2/3GB RAM with 16/32GB internal storage and a microSD card slot for memory expansion up to 128GB. The G5 runs on Android 7.0 Nougat right out of the box.

In the camera department, the device features a 13-megapixel rear camera with  f/2.0, 1.1-micron pixels, PDAF, LED flash and can record full HD 1080p videos. On the front, it has the same 5-megapixel shooter with f/2.2, 1.4-micron pixels for better selfies and video calls. Just like the G5 Plus, the G5 also rocks a fingerprint sensor, front firing speakers, and Water-repellant nano-coating. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11n dual-band, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, microUSB port. A 2,800mAh battery with rapid charging support is on board.

Pricing and availability: The Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus come in Lunar Gray and Fine Gold colors. The Moto G5 starts at 199 Euros (US$ 210 / Rs. 14005 approx.) for 2GB RAM/16GB storage. While the Moto G5 Plus costs you US$ 229 for the 2GB RAM and 32GB storage variant and 279 Euros for 3GB RAM/32GB storage. Motorola mentioned that There is also a 4GB RAM with 64GB storage variant for selected markets. Both the G5 and G5 Plus will be available starting from March in various countries across Latin America, Asia Pacific and North America.
