Moto G6 Play with 5.7-inch 18:9 display, 4000 mAh battery launched in India

Alongside the Moto G6, Motorola has also launched the Moto G6’s trimmed down variant, the Motorola Moto G6 Play, today, in Delhi. The new smartphone sports a taller 18:9 display and a massive 4000 battery.

The Moto G6 Play sports a 5.7-inch HD+ IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720×1440 pixels. The 18:9 display has a pixel density of 282 PPI which is protected under an unknown version of Gorilla Glass. The phone is powered by an Octa-core Snapdragon 430 chipset with Adreno 505 GPU. It comes with either 2 GB RAM & 16 GB storage or 3 GB RAM & 32 GB storage variant. The storage can be expanded up to 256 GB using a microSD card. The phone runs on Android 8.0 Oreo.

The Moto G6 Play comes with a 13 MP single rear facing camera, that has an f/2.0 aperture and a pixel size of 1.12um. There’s also an LED flash on the rear. The front facing camera has an 8 MP sensor with an LED flash. The front facing camera comes with features such as stickers. Both the front and rear cameras can record videos at a maximum resolution of 1080p.

As its a Play variant, the Moto G6 Play packs in a massive 4000 mAh battery which can be topped-up using the bundled 15 W TurboCharger. There’s a rear mounted fingerprint scanner that is placed in the Moto dimple, and there’s also facial unlocking, for security.

The phone supports 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS, FM Radio and a micro USB port. It comes with a 3.5 mm audio jack with Dolby Audio. The phone features a glassback and can withstand normal watersplashes.

Pricing and Availability of the Motorola Moto G6 Play

The Motorola Moto G6 Play comes in Black, Deep Indigo and Silver colors. The phone is priced at 11,999 and will be available exclusively on Flipkart starting at INR 11,999.

  1. Motorola G6 Play never offers value for money spec’s at price tag around 12k like old snapdragon 430 soc, HD+ resolution etc. while 4000 mAh battery is only good thing in this smartphone.
