Samsung Galaxy A3, A5 and A7 2017 Unveiled – Water-resistant, USB Type-C

Samsung is hoping to see the new year well after the poor second half, thanks to the Galaxy Note 7 debacle that gave the company a lot of bad reputation and loss in revenue. To start with, it is the introduction of Galaxy A series at CES 2017 in Las Vegas. The 2017 Galaxy A series starts with the Galaxy A3, A5, and A7, and we’ll see the other models later.

There’s quite a lot of changes that you can easily notice when compared with the last year’s Galaxy A series. The new Galaxy A phones are water-resistant and they come with the USB Type-C connectivity. Apart from that, the new USB standard helps in fast charging the phones. Also, the phones are upgraded with better cameras. It is the IP68 water and dust resistance offered.

Galaxy A7 2017

The phone features a 5.7-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display, and it is powered by a 1.9GHz octa-core processor coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. The camera combination includes a 16MP rear camera with F/1.9 aperture and a 16MP front-facing camera with F/1.9 aperture. There is a 3600 mAh battery packed into the device and the connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v 4.2, ANT+, USB Type-C,and NFC (UICC, eSE).

The phone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow and the sensors included in the phone are Accelerometer, Proximity, Geomagnetic, RGB Light, Hall, Fingerprint scanner, and Barometer. The device is 7.9mm thick (156.8 x 77.6 x 7.9 mm).

Galaxy A5 2017

This is a smaller device having a 5.2-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display, and even this phone has the same processor, RAM, storage and even the camera combination as the ones included in the A7 2017. The battery, though, because of the smaller size has a capacity of 3000 mAh.

The Dual SIM phone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v 4.2, ANT+, USB Type-C, and NFC are the connectivity options. Accelerometer, Proximity, Geomagnetic, RGB Light, Hall Fingerprint scanner, and Barometer are the sensors given in the device and even the Galaxy A5 is 7.9mm in thickness (146.1 x 71.4 x 7.9 mm).

Galaxy A3 2017

The smallest of the lot, the Galaxy A3 2017 has a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED display and that is with the HD resolution. The device runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow and there is a 1.6GHz octa-core chipset powering the phone along with 2GB of RAM and there is 16GB internal storage offered.

While a 13MP rear camera is offered with F/1.9 aperture, the front of the phone has an 8MP camera with F/1.9 aperture. The Galaxy A3 has a 2350 mAh battery and this Dual SIM phone has a plethora of connectivity options including Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v 4.2, ANT+, USB Type-C and NFC. The sensors included in the phone are Accelerometer, Proximity, Geomagnetic, RGB Light, Hall, Fingerprint Scanner, Barometer. The dimensions of the phone are 135.4 x 66.2 x 7.9 mm.

The Galaxy A (2017) series will be first released in Russia this month and then will follow in the other markets.
