Samsung has launched a budget smartphone in the Z series, the Samsung Z2, while announcing that the smartphone buyers can take advantage of the Reliance Jio 4G network and its Preview Offer. While it might seem like a very basic phone with entry-level specs, the Z2 still seems like a good deal right now because of the Jio Preview Offer.
The Samsung Z2 comes with a 4-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with the WVGA resolution (480 x 800 pixels), and internally, the phone is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor along with 1GB of RAM and 8GB internal storage, with a MicroSD card slot offering storage expansion by up to 128GB. The Z series from Samsung runs the Tizen OS and not Android, and that is the case even with the Samsung Z2.
As for the camera combination, it is a 5-megapixel rear camera and a VGA front-facing camera, but Samsung has mentioned about a few camera modes that should at least give a decent experience with the back camera. Apart from the 1500 mAh battery on the device, here are some important inclusions that are worth a mention.
S-Bike mode – S bike mode filters all incoming calls while the biker is riding. And if the call is urgent, the caller can press 1 to connect directly with the biker.

Some of the common apps like Facebook, WhatsApp, Messenger, Cricbuzz, Hotstar, OlaCabs, Quickr, and games like Asphalt Nitro come pre-installed in the device.
Ultra Data Saving – This is a specialized mode on the recent Samsung phones that saves data while you browse the web to access your favorite apps. It is said to save up to 40% of data.
The Samsung Z2 has 4G LTE connectivity along with VoLTE feature, and the device comes with the Jio 4G Preview Offer. Under this offer, one can get 90 days of unlimited data, calls, and SMS. The Jio SIM is available for other Samsung phones as well, but for someone trying to get a budget phone, this will give a good Internet access for three months.
The phone will be available in the offline market, and online, it will be available only on Paytm.
