Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s officially announced in China with Dual-lens camera

Xiaomi has finally launched its bezel-less flagship smartphone, Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S, in an event held in Shanghai. The phone comes as a successor to the Mi MIX 2, with subtle changes to the design and the internal hardware.

The phone sports a 5.99-inch FullHD+ display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and the 18:9 aspect ratio. The processor underneath is the beefy Snapdragon 845 with Adreno 630 GPU. The phone comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, and it runs Android Oreo with Xiaomi’s own MIUI 9.5 on top.

As for the cameras, the rear has a dual lens camera combination where the primary camera is a 12 MP one with F/2.0 aperture, and the second one is a 12MP one having a telephoto lens for the 2x optical zoom, and it has the F/2.4 aperture, which Xiaomi mentions that is the same one on the Apple’s latest iPhone. The rear camera can shoot videos at a maximum resolution of 2160p.

On the front, the 8 MP camera with f/2.0 aperture sits in the same place as it was on the Mi Mix 2, ie. the bottom chin. And thus, Xiaomi avoids the notch on the top of the device. To talk more about the camera, the primary one has the Sony IMX 363 sensor with the 1.4um pixel size and there is a dual-pixel autofocus. The dual camera setup can help take portrait shots, and the other features include 4-axis OIS, and the hardware level multi-frame noise reduction.

The side frames are made out of 7000 series Aluminium. The back houses a fingerprint sensor towards the top center area. The phone supports wireless charging.
