ZTE has announced the launch of their flagship smartphone, the ZTE Axon 9 Pro, at IFA 2018, in Berlin. The Axon 9 Pro is a successor to the ZTE Axon 7 Pro, launched in 2016. The phone has a notched display and dual cameras, dual speakers.

Display, Chipset & OS
The ZTE Axon 9 has a 6.21-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 2248×1080 pixels. The 18.7:9 display is HDR10 compatible. The beefy Snapdragon 845 chipset powers the smartphone, coupled with the Adreno 630 GPU which handles the graphics. It comes with 6 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128 GB of UFS 2.1 storage. The phone lacks a microSD card slot. The Axon 9 Pro comes with Android 8.1 Oreo.
For the cameras, the ZTE Axon 9 Pro features a 12 MP rear facing camera which uses a 1/2.6″ Sony IMX363 sensor with a 1.44 um pixel size and a f/1.75 aperture, while the secondary camera is a 20 MP shooter with a 130° super-wide angle unit. The primary shooter comes with Optical Image Stabilization. On the front, the ZTE Axon 9 Pro has a 20 MP front-facing camera with a f/2.0 aperture.
Battery and Connectivity
The Axon 9 Pro from ZTE has a massive 4000 mAh battery which supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 4.0 technology. Apart from the usual wired charging option, the phone also has support for wireless charging. For connectivity, the phone has support for dual 4G VoLTE, 802.11ac Dual Band Wi-Fi with 2×2 MU-MIMO, Bluetooth 5, GPS & GLONASS
Audio & Ports
The ZTE Axon Pro comes with a USB Type C port, and no headphone jack, however, it comes with USB Type-C Audio support. The phone also has Dual Speakers, Dual SmartPA as well as Dynamic stereo sound with Dolby Audio.
Security and Ingress Protection
The Axon 9 Pro has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, for security. Also, the phone is IP68 Dust and Water resistant certified.
Pricing and Availability of ZTE Axon 9 Pro
The ZTE Axon 9 Pro comes only in Blue color and is priced at EUR 650 (USD 766/ INR 54,412). The phone will be available first in Germany and later on in European and Asian markets.
