Samsung Galaxy On7 (2016) with Metal Body and Fingerprint Sensor Launched

Samsung has just unveiled the next generation Galaxy On7 in China. The successor of the lower mid-range Android smartphone sports full metal construction along with a fingerprint sensor. The newly launched Samsung Galaxy On7 (2016) comes with an upgraded display panel and beefed up internal specifications.

The latest handset features a 5.5-inch Full HD 1080p touchscreen. This is a significant improvement from the 720p display of last year’s Galaxy On7. The Samsung Galaxy On7 (2016) is just 8 mm thick and features a metal unibody build. It has a smaller footprint than both the previous generation Galaxy On7 and On7 Pro. Android 6.0.1 The smartphone runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with Samsung’s customized user interface layered above it.

Coming to the internals, the Galaxy On7 (2016) has got the brand new Snapdragon 625 SoC. This is an octa-core 64-bit processor with the highest clock speed of 2.0 GHz. An Adreno 506 GPU is present to handle the graphics performance. The chipset is constructed with the latest 14 nm manufacturing process for optimum power efficiency. Samsung has incrementally upgraded the memory with a 3 GB RAM module along with 32 GB of internal storage. The handset also supports micro SD cards up to 256 GB.

The camera department of the Galaxy On7 (2016) has got a 13 MP primary unit with a large f/1.9 sized aperture. At the front, there is an 8 MP selfie shooter. The handset has a LED flash beside the rear camera. The device can record Full HD 1080p videos at 30 fps.

Samsung Galaxy On7 (2016) comes with a fingerprint sensor incorporated to the Home Button with support for third party integrations. The phone features a Hybrid Dual SIM tray which supports a micro SD card via the second slot. It supports a broad range of 4G LTE networks along with VoLTE (Voice over LTE). Other customary connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS, are present.

A 3300mAh Lithium-ion battery with fast charging support juices up the brand new smartphone. At 167 grams, the device has a decent weight. The handset comes in three color variants, namely Black, Rose Gold and Gold. The Samsung Galaxy On7 (2016) is now available for purchase in China for a retail price of 1599 Yuan (Rs. 16000 / $239 approx.).
