Reliance Communications has reportedly set a merger deal with Aircel and the company is preparing for the merger with the announcement set to happen after the commercial launch of Jio 4G. It is the wireless operations of Reliance Communications Ltd (R-Com) and Aircel Ltd that are going to merge.
The position of both the companies has been deteriorating in the past few months and they have been holding talks for six months and now, according to the sources, it is now confirmed and the training meets within the Reliance Communications company have let the employees now that it is going to be a merger sometime soon.
It was earlier expected that the deal will be sealed by June end, but it got delayed and now, we are learning that it could be after August 15th when we get to hear a proper announcement.
It is also learned that Aircel will take advantage of Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd.’s 4G LTE network and thus, expect porting of all Aircel subscribers to the new network. Aircel is in debt and it has even sold spectrums to clear a part of it, but it will be clear only when both the companies make the announcement that is set to happen after the commercial launch of Jio 4G.
There were rumors earlier but now, it is almost confirmed and we will wait to see what Aircel and Reliance have in terms with the merger.
