How to turn off Notifications on Google Chrome browser

Notification on your browser is the latest trend these days. Almost every popular website you browse has started offering notifications and you are asked to choose whether you would like to receive them or not. You can have a control on whether the notifications should be shown or not, but there is no control on the number of notifications, and when to receive them.

Wake up in the morning and turn on your computer to see a flurry of missed notifications. That becomes annoying with time and sometimes you feel like limiting these. If you are looking for a way to turn off notifications from particular website on Google Chrome, here’s how to do that.

Manage Chrome Website Notifications

You will have to go to the Advanced settings in your Chrome browser settings. Click on the Chrome Menu on the top right side, and then click on Settings and in the Settings page, click on “Show Advanced Settings”.

This will list out a big number of important settings, and this is where your Notification settings will be available. In the “Privacy” section, click on “Content Settings”.

Here, find the option of Notifications.

Under this, you will see three options that are explained below but in them, you need to select the third option if you want to get rid of all the website notifications on your browser.

Allow all sites to show notifications: You’ll automatically see notifications from all websites.
Ask when a site wants to show notifications: You’ll get an alert from Chrome whenever a site wants to show you notifications. This is the default setting.
Do not allow any site to show notifications: You won’t see any notifications from websites.

So, this is the same place where you can even toggle the other settings and you will be able to change the setting for a particular website, block or allow notifications from the website. Click on “Manage Exceptions” to change the setting.
