Chromecast Ultra with 4K support tipped to cost $69, launch on Oct 4th

There have been quite a few leaks already of the upcoming two smart products from Google, the Google Home and Google Chromecast. While quite a few of you might be interested in the Google Home, let’s talk about the upgrade to Chromecast, which has been selling so well and doing good for the price tag of $35.

But the upgrade isn’t going to be cheap. That was the case with the second version of Chromecast, which costed the same as the first gen. model, but the upcoming dongle named Chromecast Ultra is said to be double the price, i.e. $69. This was first learned by Android Police through its sources, and they rate the rumor confidence at 9/10 so we might see that price tag of $69.

As for the features, we very well know that the device will have the support for 4K streaming and that should keep it ahead of several others. It is also said that the dongle will have HDR capability, but we are sure that Google won’t end it here and there will be a lot more features included.

The launch is going to happen on October 4th, when the new Pixel smartphones are getting launched but Google will also be introducing the Google Home, and Chromecast Ultra streaming dongle. It will be interesting to see what the company has in plans, in terms of features because some HDMI dongles are feature-loaded and competitively priced already.
