Sony unveils OTG drives with USB Type-C and Type-A connectors

Sony has unveiled their new OTG drives which come with USB Type-C connectors, it also comes with USB Type-A connector for wider compatibility with devices. Sony has launched these devices under the USM-CA1 series. They are termed as dual connection flash drives. With the help of the USB Type-C and Type-A connectors users can transfer files with the USB 3.1 Gen 1, getting up to 130MB/s transfer speeds.

With these OTG drives users can transfer or share photos, videos, music along with any file between PCs Smartphones and tablets which are compatible with ultra-compact USM-CA1 having USB Type-C and Type-A ports. The OTG drives are sleek, slim and stylish made of metal and come with a silicone cover for added protection.

Sony OTG drive with USB Type C

The port types are USB Type-C and USB Type-A using the USB 3.1 Gen 1 interface. These drives are sleek and weigh just 5 grams in weight without the silicon cover measuring 26.35 x 12.2 x 5.3mm. The drives are available in three capacities having 16GB, 32GB and 64GB variants. The drives are compatible with Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7, OS X 10.8 or later and Android OS 5.x or later.

The new OTG drives by Sony will be available from February 2016. The details about the pricing have not been revealed yet.
