Garmin Vivoactive 3 Music launched with fitness tracking, music playback

Garmin has announced their latest fitness tracker, the Garmin Vivoactive 3 Music, today. The new smartwatch has all the goodness and features of the previously launched Garmin Vivoactive 3 but with added music playback functionality.

The Vivoactive 3 Music features a 1.2-inch full-color circular Chroma display with a resolution of 240×240 pixels. It uses Transflective Memory in pixel for better sunlight visibility while consuming less power. The watch lets users track various activities such as heart rate, calories burnt, floors climbed, distance traveled, intensity minutes, TrueUp and Move IQ.

It also comes with sleep monitoring and fitness level monitoring with VO2 max. It lets you track your stress levels and provide fitness age estimates.

The Vivoactive 3 Music comes preloaded with gym activity profiles such as Strength Training, Cardio Training, Elliptical Training, Stair Stepping, Floor Climbing, Indoor Rowing, and Yoga.

As the name suggests, the Vivoactive 3 Music can store up 500 songs in its memory. The watch has support for music services such as iHeartRadio, Deezer (coming soon) and many more, allowing the user to create a playlist for music playback on the go.

Users need to purchase the Bluetooth headset separately to listen to music on the go, without any need to carry your mobile phones. Also, the Vivoactive 3 music comes with Garmin Pay service which lets users pay for purchases using their watch.

The Vivoactive 3 Music has got you covered with all the required sensors such as the Garmin Elevate wrist heart rate monitor, GPS/GLONASS, Compass, Barometric altimeter, Accelerometer and even a Thermometer. The watch is water resistant up to 5 ATM of pressure.

For connectivity, it comes with Bluetooth and is compatible with any device running on Android or iOS. Users can track or sync their training/activity data from the watch to their smartphones using the Garmin connect App.

Garmin claims that the band will last up to 7 days of use in smartwatch mode, while in the power-hungry GPS mode with Music, the fitness band is said to last you only for a measly 5 hours. The watch is said to last up to 13 hours in the GPS mode without the Music, but then it defeats the purpose of getting music variant in the first place.

Pricing and Availability of Garmin Vivoactive 3 Music

The Garmin Vivoactive 3 Music comes in Black and white silicone straps with either Slate, Rose Gold or Stainless Steel accents on the watch. The pricing of the band starts at USD 299. The interchangeable straps can be purchased separately at price of USD 29.99 for each strap.
