Smartron tband with ECG measurement launched in India

Smartron has launched their first wearable device, Smartron tband, in India. The new wearable fitness tracker from the company has ECG and BP measurement and is aimed at fitness enthusiasts. The tband comes with interchangeable straps which uses quick release pins.

The tband has a 0.96 inch OLED screen with a 128×64 pixels resolution. It lets users track various activities such as steps, heart rate, calories burnt, distance, running pace, workout BPM.

The tband can track BP, Stress, HRV, Sleep Efficiency, Fatigue, HRM (auto HR every 60 mins), Resting Heart Rate, ECG that will help users to monitor their Health Index. For the ECG measurement it uses an ECG Electrode, while the BP is measured using PWTT method and the Heart Rate is measured by detecting the change in blood flow using the reflected green LED light incident on the skin.

tband can also send Call & Text Alerts, Application Alerts, Time DND For Alerts, Activity Trends, on their wrists. There’s also Sedentary reminders to alert users if they’ve been siting for a long period of time. It has smart features such as weather forecast, wrist detection, says Date & Time and has up to 10 Customizable Alarms.

Commenting on the launch, Hari Kumar, Senior Director, Head of Electronics at Flipkart said,

“With the Smartron tband that has first of its category features like ECG and BP monitoring, we plan on building this category and offering consumers quality products with new and innovative features. We are excited to be exclusive partners for Smartron’s new wearable launch and are confident that we will see great response from the consumers for the tband.”

The tband from Smartron can store up to 14 Days of detailed Motion Data, 10 ECG and BP records. It can also store 1200 min Heart Rate Data and Pace Data at 3 sec intervals during exercise tracking.

Smartron tband comes with an Optical Heart Rate Tracker, ECG, a Vibration motor and a 3-axis accelerometer. The smart band comes with IP67 water and dust resistant certification. For connectivity, it uses Bluetooth, and is compatible with any device running Android 5.0 and above or iOS 8.3 and above. The data can be viewed on their thealth app and the band will receive updates, OTA.

The Smartron tband has a 100 mAH battery that charges using a magnetic charging dock bundled with it. The tband has a battery life of 2-3 days of standard use, according to the company.

Pricing and Availability of Smartron tband

The Smartron tband will be exclusively available on Flipkart at a price of Rs. 4,999 and will go on sale on May 13. It comes with 1 year of warranty on the band and 6 months of warranty on the box items.
