Thomson re-enters India with Android Smart TVs, priced from Rs. 13490

Thomson TVs, a popular TV brand in the 80s & 90s is planning to take you on a nostalgia trip with the launch of new range of Smart TVs in India. The company has announced the launch of 32 Smart, 40 Smart, 43UHDXSMART TVs , today at an event, in New Delhi. The new range of TVs from Thomson, mark the company’s return into Indian markets, and possibly Indian homes as well. The French company is re-entering the Indian market in collaboration with Super Plastronics Private Ltd. (SPPL).

Thomson 32 Smart

The 32 Smart features a 32” HD+ LED display, which is a Samsung panel, with a resolution of 1366×768 pixels. It has a 60Hz refresh rate with a 178 wide viewing angle. The TV has a maximum brightness of 450 nits. The TV has ARM cortex CA53 processor and a Mali-T720 MP2 GPU underneath, coupled with 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of flash storage. It runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

The TV comes with bottom firing stereo speakers with a total output of 20 RMS. For the connectivity, it has 3 HDMI ports, 2 USB 2.0 ports, 1 SD card slot, a headphone jack and an Ethernet port. It also supports Miracast and sports an 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi. There is a pre-installed browser in the TV and some of the pre-installed apps include YouTube, Netflix, and Google Chrome. Some of the other UI features of the TV include Auto Power Off, Auto Volume Leveler, Eco-mode.

Thomson 40 Smart

The 40 Smart comes with a 40” FullHD LED display, which is a Samsung panel, with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. It has a 60Hz refresh rate with a 178 wide viewing angle. The TV has a maximum brightness of 450 nits. The TV has ARM cortex CA53 processor and a Mali-T720 MP2 GPU underneath, coupled with 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of flash storage. It runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

The TV comes with 2×10 watt bottom firing stereo speakers with a total output of 20 RMS. For the connectivity, it has 3 HDMI ports, 2 USB 2.0 ports, 1 SD card slot, a headphone jack and an Ethernet port. It also supports Miracast and sports an 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi. There is a pre-installed browser in the TV and some of the pre-installed apps include YouTube, Google Chrome and Skype. Some of the other UI features of the TV include Auto Power Off, Auto Volume Leveler, Eco-mode.

The 43 Smart features a 43” UHD IPS HDR display, which is a LG panel, with a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels. It has a 60Hz refresh rate with a 178 wide viewing angle. The TV has ARM cortex CA53 processor and a Mali-T720 MP2 GPU underneath, coupled with 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of flash storage. It runs on Android 4.4.4 with Aptoide TV

The TV comes with 2x10W bottom firing stereo speakers with a total output of 20 RMS. For the connectivity, it has 3 HDMI ports, 2 USB 2.0 ports, 1 SD card slot, a headphone jack and an Ethernet port. It also supports Miracast and sports an 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi. There is a pre-installed browser in the TV and some of the pre-installed apps include Gmail, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and Netflix. Other UI features of the TV include Auto Power Off, Back Light Adjustment, Eco-mode.

The 30 Smart TV is said to be the cheapest smart TV in India with a price tag of Rs. 13490, while the 40 SmartTV is priced at Rs. 19,990. The 43 UHDXSMART TV would cost Rs. 27,999. The TVs are available to purchase exclusively on Flipkart starting from 13 April 2018. The brand will open its flash sale on April 13th, 2018, Friday, at 12 noon.
