Vu Activoice 4K Android TVs launched in India, starting Rs. 36,999

Vu launched a series of Android TV’s in India and put its step in the smart TV segment here. The TVs come in three sizes, 43-inch (43SU128), 49-inch (49SU131) and 55-inch (55SU134) and all have 4K resolution. The features are truly smart as the remote comes with ActiVoice technology thereby enabling voice search and allows you to browse and select in 88 languages. There is also a standard remote for the more conservative users. The company likes to call their TV as the official Android TV as the other unofficial TVs don’t come with voice search support.

Vu has partnered with Netflix, Hot star and ALTBalaji to offer Video on Demand apps. There is also an option to easily install apps and games from the Google Play Store. All the three models come with built-in 10 + 10-watt stereo speakers in the form of a Soundbar. The audio codec support on the TV’s includes Dolby Digital and DTS. For now, the TV’s run on Android 7.0 Nougat but the company has promised an Android 8 Oreo upgrade in the second half of the year. The TV’s come with Chromecast support and allows you to cast content from Android, iOS, Mac, and Windows to the TV. There was no mention of HDR so we assume that Vu might have skipped it.

The TV comes with a 43-inch / 49-inch / 55-inch (3480 x 2160) 4K UHD A+ Grade IPS Panel with 178-degree viewing angle and is powered by a Quad-Core Processor with Mali T860 GPU. The RAM on the TV’s is 2.5GB while the internal storage is 16GB. The software on the Android TV is based on Android 7.0 and is upgradable to Android 8.0. The TV’s support Dual Band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and have 3 x HDMI, 2 x USB, Ethernet Port for increased connectivity. The video codecs include MPEG/H.264/H.265 decoder and the audio codecs supported are Dolby Digital0 and DTS. There is also a Voice Control Remote for increased convenience.

The 43-inch variant of the Vu Android 4K UHD TV will go on sale for Rs 36,999 while the 49-inch and 55-inch variants will be available for Rs 46,999 and Rs 55,999 respectively. The sale will be done through Flipkart and Vu’s flagship stores.
