Acer Spin series of Convertible Notebooks with Windows 10 announced at IFA 2016

Acer has introduced four new convertible notebooks under the Spin series to strengthen this segment with the Spin 7, Spin 5, Spin 3 and Spin 1. All four notebooks run on windows 10 having Continuum, and comes with Acer’s proprietary wobble-free 360-degree dual-torque hinge, which makes it easy to open but prevents it from toppling over when using the touchscreen. This also helps in giving the user an opportunity to use it as a notebook, tablet and tent mode.

Acer has made sure that it caters to all the segments of users by introducing the Spin 1 which is best for students with its basic specification, then come with Spin 3 and Spin 5 which come with a Full HD display along with SSD for giving the best speeds and performance.

The top of the line is the Spin 7 which is thinner than your standard DV drive and comes with Core i7 SoC. The notebooks feature Acer BluelightShield which minimizes eye strain, Acer Color Intelligence which maximizes color saturation for bright and clear visuals, and Acer TrueHarmony for crisp and clear audio.

First is the Spin 1 which comes with basic specifications making it an ideal notebook for students to be used as a secondary notebook to be carried around. It is both affordable and will be available in two models having a 13-inch or 11.6-inch Full HD IPS display. It comes with the new Intel Pentium or Celeron processors. It supports the Acer Active Pen with Windows Ink, and features a display that’s covered with Antimicrobial Corning Gorilla Glass 5, made possible by embedded antimicrobial ionic silver that lasts the lifetime of the touch surface.

It comes with up to 9 hours of battery life making it ideal for students. The Acer Spin 1 will be available in North America in December with prices starting at $249; and in EMEA in November with prices starting at €299; and in China in October with prices starting at ¥2,999.

The Acer Spin 3 sports a bigger 15.6-inch HD or Full HD IPS display having a sporty brushed hairline finish. It comes with a backlit keyboard with 1.6mm keystroke to make it comfortable while typing. It is powered by the 6th Generation Intel Core processor coupled with 12GB of DDR4 RAM and dual storage support with SSD up to 256GB and hard drives up to 1TB making it a beast of a performer with fast boot up time and good storage space as well.

Even with a big display and high-performance Acer promises that the Spin 3 and Spin 5 can last up to 9.5 hours on a full charge. It also comes with a HD webcam capable of capturing photos in HDR. The Acer Spin 3 will be available in North America in October with prices starting at $499; and in EMEA in September with prices starting at €599.

The Spin 5 sports a compact 13.3-inch Full HD IPS touchscreen display with HDR or High Dynamic Range imaging support to give you clear, bright and detailed images. It is powered by up to 7th Generation Intel Core processors coupled with 16GB DDR4 RAM and up to 512GB of SSD making it incredibly fast in all aspects. The Spin 5 is said to last up to 10 hours on a single charge which makes it perfect for all day usage.

The body comes with a crossed-hairline brush finish on the aluminum top cover provides a fabric-like appearance which prevents unnecessary fingerprints and smudges. The Acer Spin 5 will be available in North America in October with prices starting at $599; and in EMEA in September with prices starting at €599.

Acer Spin 7

The Acer Spin 7 stands out with just one glance, having a thickness of just 0.43 inches which is thinner than a standard DVD case makes it one of the world’s thinnest laptops of notebooks with a weight of 2.6 pounds or 1.2 kgs making it very easy to carry around.

The 13-inch all-aluminum uni-body sports a 14-inch Full HD IPS touch display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. It is powered by 7th Generation Intel Core i7 processor coupled with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB SSD internal storage. The notebook comes with Dual USB 3.1 Type-C ports are included for quick data transfers, connection to an external display, and to charge the notebook.

The Acer Spin 7 will be available in North America in October with prices starting at $1,199; and in EMEA in October with prices starting at €1,299; and in China in September with prices starting at ¥8,999.
