Amazon India won’t allow returns for Phones, Tablets, Cameras, and Laptops

What might look like a logical decision from the e-commerce store but a big hurdle while making a decision for the potential product buyers, Amazon India has stopped offering returns for the major electronics, including Mobile Phones, Laptops, Cameras, and a few other products.

In the recent change in Return Policies, it is a few selected categories where this rule is being applied, and if you find a faulty gadget or don’t like it, you might just get a replacement but won’t be able to return it fully.

Please Note: All tablets, laptops, desktops, monitors, cameras and camera lenses that are fulfilled by Amazon and purchased on or after 11th May 2016 are eligible for a replacement only policy and will no longer be eligible for refunds. In case you have received a defective or a damaged product, you will be eligible for a free replacement.

Which are the categories where this rule has changed?

  • Mobile Phones
  • Tablets
  • Laptops
  • Desktops
  • Monitors
  • Cameras
  • Camera lenses
  • Air Conditioner
  • Refrigerator
  • Washing Machine
  • Dishwasher
  • Microwave

If the item received is damaged or defective, you can still send it back within 10 days of the delivery, but hey, this might depend on your luck as well.

Note: The return policy is changed only for the new products. Refurbished products can still be sent back within 10 days to claim the refund.

This step might make users think twice before ordering a phone on Amazon India if it isn’t an exclusive sale there. But on the other side, it was known that there were many users taking advantage of this return policy and exploiting it. Will you be happy with this new policy change, or was Amazon one of the choices for you for the reason that you can use the product and check it out before deciding to return if you didn’t like it?
