ASUS ZenFone AR with Daydream and Tango officially launched in India

ASUS India has officially launched the ZenFone AR in the Indian market. The ZenFone AR is a different device with the focus on artificial intelligence and thus, it comes with three cameras on the back, each given a specific function. This, in fact, is the world’s first Tango-enabled and Daydream-ready phone. The phone comes in Charcoal Black color with a leather-like finish that was earlier seen on the ZenFone Zoom. It still has the Aero-space aluminum body.

Tango from Google is an Augmented reality technology and with Daydream, it is possible to view VR content on your phone. The ZenFone AR from ASUS comes with a 5.7-inch display with the Quad HD resolution (2560 x 1440 pixels) and there is Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. The NTSC is over 100% and 60ms touch response time is what the display offers for a smoother gaming. The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor (quad-core, clocking at 2.35GHz) and there is Adreno 530 GPU along with it. The phone has 8GB of RAM and storage of 128GB. The device supports storage expansion by up to 2TB with the help of a MicroSD card.

ASUS ZenFone AR

One of the components that help with the AR and the advancements that this device offers, is the camera optics. There are three cameras, the first one being a 23-megapixel one with f/2.0 aperture, 6P Largan lens, and 0.03-second laser auto-focus, 4-axis, 4 stops Optical Image Stabilization, 0.03 sec Ultrafast TriTech autofocus, Blue Glass IR Filter, and this is the primary camera for regular captures. The two other cameras include the following – Motion tracking camera lets ZenFone AR track its location as it moves through space, and Depth sensing camera with an infrared (IR) projector lets ZenFone AR measure its distance from real-world objects. The cameras support 4K video recording and this camera set is protected by Sapphire glass.

This is a Dual SIM smartphone with the secondary card being a hybrid one, offering support for either a SIM or a MicroSD card at one time. The sensors included in the ZenFone AR are Accelerator, E-Compass, Gyroscope, Proximity sensor, Hall sensor, Ambient light sensor, RGB sensor, IR sensor (Laser Focus), Fingerprint, and Barometer.

ZenFone AR Camera

The ZenFone AR runs Android Nougat based ZenUI 3.0 and it has a 3300 mAh battery with the support for BoostMaster Fast Charging, which is said to offer about 60% of charge in 39 minutes with the 18W charger. For the audio, the built-in mono speaker has a new 5-magnet speaker and there is ASUS SonicMaster 3.0 for the enhancement of the audio for the AR and VR. There’s a 5-magnet speaker, Hi-Res Audio, and Audio Wizard 3.0 allowing you to switch the sound modes.

The phone package comes with the ASUS ZenEar S earphones. There’s a fingerprint sensor given on the front of the device.

The ASUS ZenFone AR is priced at Rs. 49999.
