Jio 4G SIM cards were given to attract Blood donors in Ghaziabad

Jio SIM and its stories don’t seem to end, at least until 31st December when the Welcome Offer ends. And while we see that there are people queuing up at the Reliance Digital stores from the beginning of the day, the scarcity for the SIM cards stay the same and you won’t be able to get the SIM card with ease.

But guess what, you can now get a Jio 4G SIM card in Ghaziabad if you donate blood. It is the Rotary Club of Ghaziabad that held a blood donation camp in Navyug Market on Tuesday, and it, as expected, attracted in a lot of people who were ready to donate their blood.

Usually, it is a pack of juice that you get to replenish the fluids in body when you donate blood, but here, donors were happier with the Jio SIM card that they were getting, pre-activated with the Jio Welcome Offer where unlimited free calls, data, SMS and access to premium apps is available till 31st December.

It wasn’t a successful case for everyone, though each of them brought the Aadhaar card and 4G smartphone to get their verification done.

“There is a dearth of blood in government hospitals. At a time when dengue and chikungunya cases are on the rise, we decided to try a new way to attract blood donors by giving away free JIO 4G sims. We were surprised at its success,” said Rajeev Bansal, president, Rotary Club of Ghaziabad. “Till 5pm, close to 100 people donated blood. Forty of them were given Jio 4G sims,” he said.

“The idea took shape on a suggestion made by one of our members,” Bansal said. “A member who is an authorised dealer of Reliance sims readily agreed to divert his stock for this noble purpose” he added.
