Micromax Dual 5

As the name says, it has a dual-lens camera on the rear. Both of the sensors being 13MP, one is a Color sensor and the other is a Monochrome sensor as seen on the Honor 6X. And also, both the sensors have an f/1.8 aperture to help good amount of light entering. The cameras come with PDAF (Phase Detection Autofocus). It has a 6P lens with Gorilla Glass protection, which means no scratches on the lens. The camera modes include Pro Mode, Slow Shutter mode, Macro mode, and Anti-haze mode. It is also capable of recording 4K videos at 30fps and 1080p at 60fps, Slo-mo video recording at 120fps, GIFs, Movie mode, and 3D Video.

Taking on with the performance, it is powered by the Snapdragon 652 bundled with Adreno 510 GPU, comes with 128GB internal storage and 4GB DDR3 RAM onboard, and with the support of Quick Charge 3.0. Coming to the display, it has a 5.5-inch full HD AMOLED display with 2.5D curved glass display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection on the top. It has 3200 mAh non-removable battery within the metal unibody. Micromax reckons that with the Quick Charge 3.0 with the USB type C, you can charge 95% of the battery of your Dual 5 in just 45 min.

As earlier said, the Dual 5 is all about security and privacy. Micromax says that they have integrated an independent high-grade security chip, which is military grade and unbreakable. This security chip offers hardware level security for which, it has passed CC EAL5 + security certification. This certification is known as highest standards of ordinary civilian security level certification. Other smartphones usually just have only EAL 2+ level security. With this level of security, if an intruder gets your phone and attempts to remove the SIM card, it locks the whole device including the physical buttons. So, there’s no getting to your data. Once the lock is enabled, the data will be self-destructed after a certain period which means no access to your data. There is also a vault named SecureVault to which you can enter using a unique fingerprint.

Micromax has partnered with the 360 Security for all the security and performance features of the device. Check our guides to SecureVault and Anti-theft. The hardware also includes an IR Blaster on the top of the phone which can be used for any device that are to be remote controlled.

The Micromax Dual 5 is priced at Rs. 24999. The company is promising one year replacement for any kind of damage. It will be available from April 10th on Flipkart and Micromax e-store.
